Open Swim!
Open seasonally from Father’s Day in June until the September long weekend, the facility features a six-lane, L-shaped pool with two waterslides in the deep end, as well as a separate rectangular kiddie pool with three water fountains. A variety of programs are offered, including lane swimming, public swim times, Red Cross swimming lessons, and other recreational activities. The pool also welcomes school groups, birthday parties, and private rentals.
Additional amenities include a grassy picnic area with tables and umbrellas, an on-site concession stand, and cash-only payment (credit cards, debit cards, and cheques are not accepted; however, an ATM is available in the pool lobby). Smoking, glass containers, and pets are not permitted in the pool area.

Helpful Tips for Outdoor Swimming
- Dress appropriate for this family-friendly outdoor event.
- Life Jackets and pool flotations available.
- Personal use aids such as diving toys, boogie boards, goggles or flippers are welcome.
- Parent Supervision Required (Children under 8 must be in arms reach of their guardian.)
- Outside food and beverage welcome. No glass, knives, or propane please.
- Concession, Water Fountains & Water Bottle Re-fill available on site.
- Wagons, Strollers and Umbrellas permitted.
- Picnic Blankets and Towels encouraged.
- Street shoes permitted on grass, swim shoes permitted in pool.
Westminster Outdoor Pool
The Westminster Outdoor Pool has been a cherished summer destination in the community since it was first built in 1948 by the Lions Club of Lethbridge. Rebuilt in 1978, the pool retained its original design, allowing today’s children to enjoy swimming and water play in the same setting as generations before them.
