We are growing every day, and that means we have things we no longer need. Like clothes and toys. A lot of these items end up being donated to second hand stores, friends and family members.
One year we hosted a yard sale, the kids had a ton of fun helping with it. This year, we decided to do a yard sale, and keep it going year round. With the help of the internet and Odoo we have created an online shop for the Kids to post their products. Our family will safely ensure these products are delivered to you, or you can stop by our Yard Sale when we announce it. (You'll see it on the events app!)
As a part of our Grade 2 and Kindergarten Home Education plan, the kids are getting a lot of practice with real-world applications. Here are some of the skills that are being worked on with the Kid Store.
- Reading & Writing Numbers, Letters and Symbols
- Organization & Labelling Importance
- Identification of colours, shapes, materials, brands and more.
- Financial Literacy through counting floats, adding sales totals, making change, checking profits, and purchasing new products.
- Bartering - yes, we will make a deal and are open to trading your cool things for our cool things.
- Community - interacting safely with our neighbourhood, using our manners, listening and responding appropriately to the situation.
